York Region Trunk Sewer Inspection Program

The Region of York has recently selected Andrews Infrastructure to carry out its 2010 Trunk Sewer Inspection and Condition Assessment Program. The project involves some 25 km of trunk sewers across the Region and includes a 10 km segment of the 2400 mm York-Durham Sanitary Sewer Trunk in Markham. Andrews Infrastructure will be responsible for planning and executing the required field work and for implementing a strict quality control regime. The firm is also tasked with completing a comprehensive condition assessment review of the trunk sewers with the objective of identifying any short or long term rehabilitation needs.

The planned work is part of the Region’s on-going trunk sewer maintenance management program. All activities will follow the Region’s inspection and assessment standards and will be guided by the well known WRc methodology.

This assignment builds on AI’s on-going involvement in the Region’s extensive Maintenance Hole Inspection and Condition Assessment Program. AI is about to commence the third year of this 3-year program which included development of inspection protocol, assessment criteria and creation of a comprehensive sewer asset management database.
